Michele's obituary
Michele Traxler, born in 1970, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023. Michele was a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity, best described as friendly, bubbly, and fun-loving. Her legacy is one of unending love and ceaseless generosity.
Michele devoted significant portions of her life to the service of others, most notably as a bible school teacher at Liberty Church for 15 years and a volunteer at Meals on Wheels, where she offered her time and energy to help those less fortunate. She drew immense strength and guidance from her faith and was a regular attendee of the Liberty Christian Center.
She was a woman of diverse interests and tastes. Musically, Michele was always a fan of Duran Duran and the lyrical brilliance of Fleetwood Mac. Cinematically, she held films such as Return to Me, Only You, and Anne of Green Gables in high esteem.
A lover of art, Michele was deeply moved by the works of Monet and Rembrandt. She loved challenging friends and family to a game of Scrabble and Risk. Her appreciation of performance arts was evident in her fondness for the opera Madam Butterfly.
Michele’s favorite recreational activities included spending time with family and friends, participating in church, and relaxing at the beach. She enjoyed maintaining her health through bike riding and exercising on the elliptical machine. Her place for relaxation was at Lord's Land in Mendocino, while her favorite local spots were Asia Cafe and ABC Bakery.
A cause close to Michele's heart was Save the Children, reflecting her immense capacity for empathy and her unwavering belief in lending a helping hand. Her favorite color was white, symbolizing her purity of heart and spirit. Michele taught us to "love fiercely," and this lesson, among others, is part of her enduring legacy.
Her greatest accomplishments, however, were her two children, Celeste and Kenny Traxler, who survive her. She is also survived by her sister, mother, and father. Michele's memory will forever be a source of inspiration, reminding us all to give, even when we think we have nothing left to give.
Her last marked scripture came from Psalm 16:1 - "Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge."
