With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael R. Thompson (Dexter, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 8, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Michael leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Thompson and Viola Thompson (Woodard). He is survived by: his wife Rene; and his children, Andre of Alabama, Matthew (Amy) of Watertown, Shelby Dennison of Ohio and Shawna Lopez of Ohio. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Donations in his memory can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
