Mike was a true leader and an inspiration to many due to the passion he showed for the work he did, and how he did it. Lead by example and was somebody who you would always go the extra yard for, so as not to let him down. Always generous with his time and knowledge and was always available for some good advice. Will miss his humor and the daily conversations, but glad I had the opportunity to work with him. A great human being with a big heart and a big presence, who will be missed dearly, rest in peace Capt Mike Inman. Sincere condolences to Shirley and all his family.

I think I might be the only person that was surprised when Mike picked up the phone at 4am in the morning his time when I called from the Caribbean asking what to do about talent on a photoshoot with Covid that was supposed to meet up with the ship. Everyone else knew he would pick up - and somehow I didn't, even though I worked with him all the time on coast guard advertising and drone permissions. I'm so glad he did pick up that day - I don't know what I would have done without him.
And now that he's not here, I don't know who will answer those calls in the middle of the night - though I wish it was still Mike. Old salty sailor - sail smoothly. I miss you.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Mike at both Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises, although it was the later where we truly got to know each other.
Mike was indeed one of a kind. A truly genuine and honest person. Sometimes blunt, but you always knew where he stood- and with that I mean he was always standing with 100% integrity and doing the right thing.
He will indeed be missed. The world is not as nice without him around.
Shirley- if you see this, please contact me somehow! I know you know where to find me but I seem to have lost you.

Mike was a truly caring and generous man gentleman. He would always go to any and every length to support those of us who were lucky enough to know him. His support and kindness were always delivered with his sharp wit and quick sense of humour; banter that never failed to keep me laughing. He will be greatly missed, not only as a colleague but as a friend. My thoughts are with Shirley and the family and I offer my deepest sympathy.

RIP Mike.

So sorry to hear this! I worked with Capt Inman in Juneau in the mid-2000s! My condolences!

Papa Bear, you naughty man for slipping away so quickly. I hope you are up there calling someone else telling them to "go to your office and close the door"... How many times have I heard those words?! You were my work dad and one of my best mentors, I know we are cut from the same sailor cloth, only you learnt diplomacy and I'm still learning. Rest in Peace now Sailor, your watch is over. xx

Sail on Sailor. You were the consummate seagoing officer and a dear friend. I regret our respective journeys took us to opposite ends of the country and we lost touch. I will always admire your hard work and dedication, especially when asked to join our project team at CGHQ. Rest well my friend.

It was always such a pleasure working alongside Mike through the partnersSHIP between our two organizations. I look back fondly on my visits to Seattle when we would meet over dinner at "Ivan's" overlooking the water. Discussing business was always secondary to building a friendship, which I always appreciated. He will be deeply missed by many and has left a great legacy throughout the maritime industry. RIP Mike!

A true gentleman and my "Diamond in the Rough" friend who nurtured and maintained relationships through collaboration and respect for others - no matter the title or status. I have been blessed to know Mike and Shirley for close to 40 years - working side by side with Mike at numerous cruise lines, but moreover in sharing interests in wine and things close to his heart. The real smile was often in his eyes - particularly when Shirley was mentioned in the conversation. I miss you my friend - personally and professionally. The stars shine a little brighter today and will meet again one day "Crossing the Bar".
