Background
Many of you have expressed sympathy and heartfelt concern for Kathy and her family during this unbearable grief. Each message has been read and felt, giving Kathy immense support and care. In those messages, many ask how they can help or if there is a link to contribute. As you can imagine, Kathy is still trying to navigate all this and wants to figure out the best way to honor Michael's memory.
To know Mike was to love him—a humble and kind man who always gave his time and many talents to better others. If you are reading this, you are likely one of the lucky ones who were blessed by receiving those gifts.
This past year, Mike and Kathy cared for Kathy's mom, Renate (lovingly referred to as Nawn), before she passed. Six months prior, Kathy lost her father, Kenny, and they were working on settling all of those affairs when Renate passed. Losing two parents in less than eighteen months was traumatic but also taxing on their time, finances, and health. They finally felt they were physically and mentally in a place to start "living" and doing things they had put on their bucket list since they no longer cared for Kathy's mom. They had just recently had their first Uber ride and attended their first NHL game in St.Louis. It only made sense to cross off another first and take a train ride to visit family in Colorado. They set out on November 29th and arrived safe and sound. After two days of visiting family, the unthinkable occurred: Mike passed unexpectedly instantly, and Kathy's world shattered.
All donations will help Kathy settle outstanding affairs (transporting Michael home, medical bills, and helping honor his memory).
Kathy expresses genuine gratitude for all the calls, texts, memories shared, and support offered. She is soaking it all in. God Bless! Contribute
