I best knew Mike as "The terror of the neighborhood " in Emporia, Kansas. He was a redheaded wonder all right! Who would have thought that that little evil knievel would wind up being such a good Christian, always spreading love and joy. I lost contact with him for many years, only to reconnect in the last 2 years. Roger and I had the pleasure of meeting the love of his life, Tena.
Mike and Roger were good buddies on the railroad. Riger remembers that if you got called to catch a train to Newton and Mike was the engineer, you should always pack extra clothes. Mike was always the top candidate for a Windom turn. That trip only took 11.5 hours. The crew clerks liked to bless Mike with at least 2 or 3 turns in a row.
Our hearts are saddened to learn of Mike's passing. Hugs and prayers to Tena and family. Please let us know when his Celebration of Life will be held. Love to all.

I don’t have as many stories as my husband who spent time over the road with Mike- but every time I was around him he was happy. Very optimistic and I never heard a negative thing come out of his mouth. Even when Godzilla was in the shop, even when he got the short end of the stick on a load, he remained positive and was inspiring to me and so many. Mike left a jolly smile and infectious love and compassion legacy. I know he is drinking coffee with our Heavenly Father and smiling from ear to ear. I am grateful I got to know Mike and I will be a better person because of it.

Tena and all, We will always remember Mike's wonderful, wicked sense of humor; no one could tell a great "fish story" with such sincerity and joy like he could...and appreciate his audiences' reaction when they realized he was teasing! He will be missed by all of us, and you'll be in our prayers. With love, Dana and Patrick
