Hi Everyone,
I would love to start by saying thank you! Our family of three appreciates the outreach when checking in on Mike. We are blessed by the prayers you’ve prayed over us through this journey. It’s been almost a decade of blessed time given, but emotionally challenging too. Navigating the roller coaster from the wrath of this cancer has been tough.
One of Mike’s requests is to not hold a memorial service. Mike is an ambassador of happiness. He can turn that frown upside down like nobody's business! He lights up the room when he enters. His smile is contagious and his humor is cherished. In Mike’s lifetime, he has touched so many hearts with his superhero talent of spreading smiles. There are no boundaries when it comes to making others happy. He just has that natural act of kindness. Call it The Golden Rule or Matthew 7:12, Mike treats everyone with kindness. Mike’s gift with children is so special, and we can all agree Mike is just one big kid himself.
Mike wanted to travel the world with me as we grew old together. However, cancer has stripped him of this opportunity.
Many of you have asked me throughout this journey how you can help, and you probably received the response "just pray”. Your prayers were felt, they lifted us and have given us strength during our weakest days. But y'all wanted to do more. I understand that you need closure as much as I do. Mike, Haley, and I have come up with an option if you wish to contribute.
Since there will be no service, if you would like to gift a monetary amount towards the places Mike had planned for us to travel, I will use these gifts solely towards his wish. An independent account will be set up and used for this initiative. Haley and I will plan to visit these places in our lifetime to fulfill his desire to travel and find resting places per his list. His plan will be carried out as he hoped and you would be part of this endeavor.
