Michael's obituary
Michael Dale Werner, also known as Mike, passed away on July 18, 2023, at the age of 61. He was born on September 21, 1961. Mike was a loving, caring person whose biggest joy in life was being surrounded by his loving family. He was known for his hardworking nature, happy demeanor, and kind and generous spirit.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Julie, and their two children, Stephen and Ryan. He was a proud grandfather to Brooklyn, Bennett, and Gracie. Mike is also survived by his twin Pat and siblings, Janell, Kristine, and Leta. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Roberts, stepfather Ralph Roberts, and father, Omar Werner.
In his early years, Mike attended Camas High School, where he excelled as a student-athlete, leading the school's football and wrestling teams with his high school sweetheart, Julie, by his side. Furthering his education at Clark College, he became a familiar face to his community opening up the local Burgerville as their youngest manager, before taking charge as the meat manager for Safeway. In 2018 he hung up his apron and happily embraced retirement and the role of the ultimate doting grandfather.
In his leisure time, Mike enjoyed spending quality moments with his family, watching sports, laughing at his favorite movies, and listening to Neil Diamond on repeat. When not with family, he loved to enjoy a drink at his favorite places, Caps N’ Taps and Grains of Wrath in Camas, of which the people there quickly became family.
A funeral service will be held on August 10, 2023, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Following the service, a gathering will take place from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at their home located at 1851 NW 26th Ave, Camas, WA 98607.
Mike's presence and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family.
