Thinking of you today, my Dear Friend, on the 3d anniversary of your leaving us. I miss your great sense of humor, which was unpredictable, sometimes naughty, and always fun. You will never be forgotten. Gone too soon, Big Guy. Love you!
I am so sad to hear of Michael’s passing. My last 2 times at Caddo Lake (2022 & 2023), I was concerned since he was not giving tours due to health problems. My friends and I were fortunate to go on several tours with him during times of better health and felt that he gave the best tours on the lake. His knowledge of lake history and of the flora and fauna added so much to the enjoyment of the lake’s natural beauty. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends for the loss of this exceptional person.
I met Michael in 1992 at Fat Jack’s. He had been playing golf and came in for dinner with his golfing mates who were friends of mine. I am a golf fan and he liked that I asked about his game. We became instant friends. He was very handsome and had a great sense of humor. Two things Michael loved back then were golf and politics. He and I were always in agreement in our political views. The first time I heard Rush Limbaugh was with Mike. I miss his intelligent conversation and wonderful sense of humor.
My family and I met Michael during one of our Caddo Lake vacations. We took one of his river boat tours and were deeply impacted by his vast knowledge of history and deep love of Caddo Lake and its natural beauty! Each year we returned we always gave Michael a call to see him and book his tour! One of those vacations we invited him to our cabin and played music for him. He was amazed and deeply impacted. We will miss him greatly and look forward to being reunited when we join him in paradise! The angels rejoice in your presence, sweet Michael!❤️🙏✝️
