Nothing about Michael Thomas (Mike) was traditional.  He lived life on his on terms until his last breath.  He insisted that when he left this realm he did not want a traditional memorial or funeral service.  Instead he focused on the present moment and living each day how he saw fit.

He was a very proud and private man.  He was known to many as an avid pool player and amazing baker.  He poured his life into restoring antique cars and homes.  Michael was very well read and could do anything with his hands that he put his mind to.  His presence was felt in every room he entered.   Michael was passionate about debate and intellectual discourse. He had an affinity for stray cats and loved reading.

He leaves a legacy of entrepreneurial-ship and independent thought that his brother Ricky Thomas, daughters Dr. Michaela and Attorney Christina Thomas, along with his niece Rochelle Bea  carry on.   He was very proud of his daughters and often joked that he had a "docta and a lawya."  

Michael was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his long-term partner of more than two decades Andrea Skyes, his two daughters Dr. Michaela and Attorney Christina Thomas, siblings Ricky, Sonseeahree, Sheila and Cassandra Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  In lieu of flowers, the family request all donations be sent to the St. Louis Humane Society (https://tinyurl.com/MichaelTh…) in the name of Michael Thomas.

In honor of Michael a balloon release will be held at Forest Park on Sunday, September 26th at 4:15PM.  All are welcomed to attend.  Please meet at MUNY upper Parking Lot at 4PM.
