Michael's obituary

Michael Peter “Mike” Tartaglia was born on April 5, 1943, in Waterbury, CT and passed away on September 15, 2023.  He is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Rose Tartaglia.  He graduated from the University of Connecticut where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and continued his studies to receive his certification as a public accountant.  Mike and his wife Bernadette moved to Atlanta, GA in 1965 where he practiced as a CPA and owned his own public accounting firm for over 40 years in Tucker.  His memory will be cherished by his wife Bernadette, who was his high school sweetheart and married to for 58 years, along with his two devoted sons Michael Jr. and Mark, who both reside in Chicago, IL, and his extended family.

Mike was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special affinity for college football and basketball.  In particular, he loved the Georgia Bulldogs and the Connecticut Huskies female basketball team.  He also loved professional football and baseball.  In addition to sports, Mike was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed quality time at home with his family and golden retrievers.  Christmas Eve was a special time for Mike, when he enjoyed cooking his specialty Italian dishes and sharing them with family and friends.  Mike was also fond of the outdoors and doing yard work and gardening at his home.

He will be most remembered for his integrity and devotion to his family.  A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
