My fondest memories of Mike are from when we were growing up in Ohio.  Mike was 6 years older than me & at times during high school and college he lived with my family and helped with chores to earn money.   When I was 16 and about to take my driver's license test, I told Mike about a mark on the window of the car that I used as a guide for when to turn my wheels.   The next time I went to practice parking, I discovered that my sweet Uncle Mike had removed the mark!   He was always mischievous and often pulled tricks on me.  His sense of humor continued throughout his life.

My condolences to Phyllis, Kelly and all that knew him.  He will be missed.

From the very first moment we met, Mike welcomed me into the family with open arms and genuine warmth. I will always cherish my first memory of him. Phyllis and Mike came to visit Nik, Kelly and Chris for Christmas. Mike handed me a gift from him and Phyllis despite it being our first introduction. His kindness spoke louder than words and instantly made me feel like part of the family. He was a man of deep faith, and his love for the Lord and for his family was unwavering. One of my fondest memory is the last time we saw each other, when he told me, “We will see each other again.” That promise brings me great comfort, and I am grateful for our shared faith, knowing that we will be reunited in the future.
His legacy of compassion, faith, and love will forever remain in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Mike was a quiet, deeply principled man whose life was guided first by his faith. He didn’t say a lot, but when he did, it came from a place of conviction, care, and a clear sense of right and wrong. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, including an occasional cocktail and a cigar, and there was a calm, steady comfort in just being around him.

As his son-in-law, I’m grateful for the time I had with him and for the way he loved his daughter, Kelly. The way he carried himself, the way he showed up for his family, and the quiet consistency of his faith have left a lasting mark on both of us. Even in the small, everyday moments, you could feel his steadiness and the depth of his character.

I will miss Mike’s presence and those quiet times that didn’t need many words. I’m thankful for the example he set and the trust he showed in me as part of his family. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with respect, gratitude, and love.

Prayers for Phyllis and the family.  We enjoyed the moments God gave us with Mike and pray he is now resting whole in God's presence.
I love you, Dad- rest in peace and power
