Michael R. Sterling was born on June 26, 1950, in Smithville, Missouri, the only son of Helen and Robert E. Sterling, whom he deeply admired. He was raised in Kansas City and carried fond memories of his childhood throughout his life. Mike remained especially close to his three sisters, cherishing those lifelong bonds with love and loyalty.
