Background
We are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of our father, Michael.
On April 22, 2026, he drove himself to the hospital for what we believed would be a routine surgery to remove a small cancer from his kidney. The surgery was successful, and he was awake and recovering. But less than two hours later, he went into cardiac arrest, and we lost him.
As a family, we are devastated. As his eldest daughter, I am also still grieving the recent loss of my brother. Losing two loved ones so close together has been overwhelming, emotionally and financially. I haven’t been able to return to work, and I’m doing everything I can to stay strong through this.
We want to give our father the beautiful homegoing he deserves, but the costs are more than we can manage alone. The funeral expenses total over $13,000, including services, transportation to Chicago, and burial.
We are asking for support during this incredibly difficult time. In lieu of flowers, any donation—no matter the amount—would mean so much to our family and help us lay our father to rest with dignity.
