Michael's obituary

Michael Siegfried passed away on 12/21/2023.

He is survived by his mother, Rachel Siegfried, and two sisters: Hope and Eliza.

Michael was a "gentle giant" who brought joy to every one he encountered.

He loved going for walks in his purple stroller.

The neighborhood children looked forward to seeing Michael's stroller, so they could come pet him. One young boy in another stroller showed Michael all of his dinosaurs, and then invited Michael back to his house to play dinosaurs with him.

People in passing by cars always smiled and waved at Michael in his purple stroller when they saw his HUGE green eyes so filled with excitement . People took pictures of Michael in his stroller because he was just SO happy! People walked by Michael's stroller and said comments like, "I just love this cat!" One time when I was running with Michael in his stroller, a construction worker exclaimed, "THAT is a cat!" He made all the workers on his construction crew come see the big laid back cat with the big beautiful green eyes running in the purple stroller, happy as can be.

The construction worker summed up Michael best when he said: "Cats just do not do that. That is NOT a cat. He is very different!"                  Michael was my dog-cat, my gentle giant,             The man of the house.

He was SO patient with his little sister, Eliza, who misses him so very much.                                     When Eliza was a kitten, she used to line up alll of her felt mice on Michael's large sleeping body, and flick them off one by one to chase, a bit like a golfer would hit golf balls. Eliza would continue this "putting mice off of Michael" until he woke up.                                                                   Eliza also used to ride Michael like a horse when she was a kitten.                                                      She would jump onto his neck, and put her paws around his neck.                                                      Michael would buck like a bull, but Eliza just held on and enjoyed the ride.                                          Eliza had to physically be removed from riding Michael like a horse, until she became big enough to no longer able to do this anymore.     Eliza was always searching for Michael, and was always right beside him, licking him, sleeping beside him.                                                               Now that he is gone, Eliza will not play.                   She keeps looking for her big brother in closets,  rooms, cabinets, and out the window.                       She cries for her big brother to come home at the door, but he will never be coming home.           She waits at the end of the bed for Michael to come to bed every night, and listens to every sound, thinking it is him.                                                    Eliza will not leave the last spot where Michael was sleeping before he left-on the floor of the bathroom, even though I washed the rug.             It breaks my heart to see her grieving so badly, and I can't help her.

Michael was a light in this dark world.                       Thank you, Michael, for all of the joy that you brought to so many people.                                              You blessed everyone's life who was fortunate enough to have known you.                                             You have changed my life forever, my happy           Sweet big boy with your loving big green eyes.
