Michael Leigh Sawtelle, 25 of Lubec Maine passed away on October 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He fell ill suddenly and left us with no presage. He left behind his loving parents Michael L Sawtelle Senior and Michelle T Sawtelle as well as his devoted sister Britney L Sawtelle, loving sister Leanne L Sawtelle, best friend and brother Ralph J Sawtelle and sister Kirby Cummings. Michael also leaves behind several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephews, as well as countless other friends he loved and was loved by unconditionally.
Michael born June 29, 1993 started out (identical to his big brother) as an adorable little boy with light colored wispy hair, mildly oversized ears and big brown eyes. He loved to play video games (he was extremely competitive) with anybody he could convince to play with him or even by himself. He had the worst case of sleep walking that put him in some strange situations to wake up in. He was always wildly active and yet very affectionate. He grew from that active little boy into a kind, smart, handsome young man. Michael always did well in school eventually graduating from Washington Academy with honors. He aspired to obtain the education to become a graphic designer and create video games.
Michael was always happy and carried with him an infectious smile and amazing sense of humor. He was one of those people who rarely ever mentioned the harder parts of life because he was always focused on the good. He could find good in everyone and chose to see those qualities over people's flaws.
His passing caught everyone off guard and is a loss we will all surely feel. Even though his time was cut short in that time he gave a lifetime worth of love and will forever be in our hearts. We hope everyone will join us in celebrating Michael Leigh's life at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec, Maine at 11:00am on November 3, 2018 with a reception following immediately after.
