Background
As Michael's daughter, I had been working on getting my father into a safe assisted living facility for the past few months with many obstacles, poor timing and a real lack of funds since most facilities wanted several months up front which to a degree I could provide however, real issues arose around medicaid and the sense of urgency. I was days away from improving his situation....
I am not good at asking for help however I know how well my father was loved in and outside of the music community and many people stepped up to contribute his safety and I am very grateful. I am hoping to cover his funeral costs and raise money in his name which will carry over to a future foundation to help other people in situations like his where no social services existed. What happened to my father should have never happened in the first place and I am sure knowing how scared he was already that he would never want another person to feel how he did, most especially because as advanced as he was he was very aware of what was happening to him.
