Michael R. Sanders lost his short battle with lung cancer February 16th 2002. After going to the hospital with what he thought was the flu, he was diagnosed with the disease already in it's final stage. 

Mike was married with a beautiful 1 year old, Mackenzie Durette and he and his wife, Amber Lee, were pregnant with their son, Michael Lee who sadly never got to meet his loving daddy. Mike held on as long as he could, but his body just couldn't take anymore. He died the day before Mackenzie turned 2. 

Michael was raised in Lake City, Florida by Gracie Ann Sanders and other loving family members. He had 2 brothers, James Scott (deceased) and Matthew Scott of Gainesville, Florida. Mike met his wife, Amber Lee (Thomas) in 1996. They fell in love swiftly and started their family. Mike was an optical tech and Amber a pharmacy tech. 

Mike's children are his legacy and will tell the story of love, tragedy, and beauty that grows from pain. 

A loving son, husband, brother and father. He has been and will always be loved and missed. 💕
