With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael "BEAR" English who left this world on June 30, 2024. He was gently known as BEAR within our circles, yet always preferred his given name, Michael.

Born on May 26, 1955, Michael possessed a charm and wit that could lighten any room he entered. His laughter was contagious, his spirit, ever vibrant, and his warmth, always comforting. His charming personality and witty humor were the very core of him, making him a beloved figure within our community.

Above all else, Michael cherished his family. He is survived by his former devoted spouse, Rachel Levinson, a  loving son, Travis Bower and Daughter  Danielle Culver Their presence in his life brought him immense joy and satisfaction, and their memories of him will continue to add color to their lives.

Michael was a man of many talents and passions, his love for the outdoors being amongst his most prominent. His preferred ways to exercise were camping, hiking, and fishing. He often led the way through the serene wilderness paths, his love for nature evident in his every step. He was first in Pennsylvania for serious backpacking and was renowned for his mountain man living style, his connection with nature akin to that of a true woodsman.

His legacy, however, will be his wisdom and deep appreciation of God's Bible. Michael was a man of faith, of love, and of understanding. He loved the church and put Jesus first in his life. His participation in church activities was steadfast, his belief unwavering. His intellect was in harmony with his faith, rendering him a beacon of wisdom within our community.

Moreover, Michael was known for his culinary skills. He loved to cook, and each dish was a testament to his love for food and creativity. His intelligence extended beyond the realm of books, into the very fabric of his life, making him a cherished friend to many.

As we mourn the loss of a great man, we celebrate a life well-lived. Michael "BEAR" English lived his life in color, in love, and in faith. While he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire and guide us. His memories will live on, etched in our hearts, forever.
