Michael's obituary
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable individual, Michael "Jay" Pugh, who departed from this world on June 18, 2024, just shy of his 39th birthday. Known affectionately as Jay, he was a person who truly enriched the lives of those around him.
Michael was born on June 26, 1985, and his life was one filled with love, warmth, and genuine caring. His favourite dishes were hamburgers, and no tropical weekend was complete without a Piña Colada in hand. A voracious reader, the Bible was his book of choice, offering guidance and solace. Michael was also a fervent fan of the band Queen, whose music would often fill his home.
A man of varied tastes, Michael loved watching 'Price is Right' and could always be counted on for a competitive game if 'Dancing with the Stars' was on. He had a deep appreciation for modern art and revered the Marshall Herds, his favourite sports team. Time spent with friends and family was cherished, and these interactions often took place in his favourite local spot, Lee Street Lounge.
Michael was a man who knew how to enjoy life. He loved traveling to Hawaii and Colorado, and he was an advocate for causes he held dear, such as the ASPCA. Radiating a vibrant energy, he was often seen donned in his favourite color, red, a reflection of his passionate spirit.
Described best as caring, genuine, and loving, Michael taught us many lessons in his lifetime, the greatest of which was how to treat others with respect. His legacy will be one of love and acceptance, a testament to the extraordinary life he lived.
Michael is survived by his Aunt Cathy Brooks, and his mother, Deborah Pugh. Their grief is shared by his many friends and close family members. Jay will be sorely missed, but his spirit and the memories he has left behind will forever be etched in our hearts.
