Michael's obituary
Michael was born on February 13, 1942 and grew up in Newark, NJ. He graduated from Barringer High School and Newark State College. He worked as a Math Teacher in Newark Public Schools, as an Arbitrator for the Newark Teachers Union, and as a Tutor for Sylvan Learning Center. He also spent many years bowling in the Professional Bowlers Association and golfing in his free time. He retired from teaching in 2011 and later moved to Arizona in 2014.
Michael was a true family man and never missed a family gathering or birthday. He was a proud father and grandfather, loving brother and uncle, and loyal member of his extended family.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Catherine Porcello, and his sister, Phyllis Porcello. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou Schiavo and her husband Tony; his daughter Michele Bonfante; his daughter Heather Carco and her husband Ed; his five grandchildren, Gianna, Rocco, Hailey, Ryder and James; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in 2022 to honor his memory.
