Michael's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mikey" Polito, who graced this world with his presence on July 9, 1992, and left us far too soon on December 15, 2024. More commonly known as Mikey, he was a man who preferred to be addressed by his formal name, Michael. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A man of many passions, Mikey found joy in the small things in life; his appreciation for food was unmatched, with his favorites being pizza, macaroni and cheese, eggs and bacon, meat, and garlic. In his free time, he loved to work out, play video games, listen to podcasts, renovate his home, and walk his beloved dog. He had deep love for the outdoors, often spending time at local parks and Volo bog, and the dog park.

When he was not engaging in his local hobbies, he was exploring the world. His preferred vacation spots were the Philippines and Europe, both destinations speaking to his sense of adventure and curiosity.

His caring nature extended beyond his immediate community. Mikey was passionate about animal rescues and in lieu of flowers, funds are being raised for "Best Friends Animal Society". Donations can be made by visiting https://everloved.com/life-of….

Mikey's loving, kind, sensitive, caring, considerate, and selfless personality had a profound impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was always considerate of others, often placing their needs above his own, and wanted nothing more than to teach others the importance of this selflessness.

Despite his young age, Mikey achieved great things in his lifetime. Some of his greatest accomplishments include owning his own home and becoming a dog dad - both of which he took great pride in.

Michael is survived by his mother, Victoria Polito, his father, Michael Polito, and his sisters, Jennifer Sorensen and Dana Polito. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Brianna, Bradley, Brooklyn, Briella, Alexia, Kandyce, Dominick, Carter, and Dean. He was predeceased by his brother, Phillip Polito II, his grandmother, Eleanora Polito, his grandfather, Phillip Polito, and his aunt, Tracy Polito.

Mikey will be forever remembered and immensely missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. His life was a testament to the fact that kindness and love truly can make a difference in this world. The love and lessons he leaves behind will continue to inspire and touch our lives in many ways.
