Michael's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Johnson, 47, who passed away on February 12, 2024. Mike was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his quick wit and laid-back disposition as well as being an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.
He was born on January 3, 1977, in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents, John Johnson Sr. and Catherine. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Crystal, and children Tyler (Rachel) and Ashlyn, all of whom mourn his loss greatly. In addition, he leaves behind both parents and his older siblings, John Johnson Jr. (Tamira), Lynn Jones (Tony), Edward Johnson (Tabitha) aka Skip and Toodles, as well as four nieces and two nephews.
Mike will be forever remembered for his love of being a dad and his unwavering commitment to Jehovah God, even to the very end. He was a Ministerial Servant at the Gambrills Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and took an active role in preaching the good news of God's Kingdom throughout his entire life.
Mike had a deep love for music, with Billy Joel, Dave Matthews Band, and BNL among his favorites. He reveled in the simple pleasures of life, like enjoying his favorite foods - Crystal's Chicken Paprikash, Lynn's Deviled Eggs, and Rachel's Chicken Parmesan, often paired with his favorite bourbon.
Despite facing his health challenges and undergoing treatments, he found enjoyment in watching Star Wars movies during those downtimes. In his free time, Mike enjoyed playing golf and often spent vacations and weekends engaged in board games with his family. His favorite vacation was the family's yearly trip to Myrtle Beach with a group of close friends.
Mike’s witty and clever sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all those around him, making him a fast friend to anyone he met. In fact, one of his favorite work pastimes was creating memes for his coworkers to enjoy.
Mike will be greatly missed, but the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. They will cherish them dearly until they meet again in the future Paradise. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held at the Linthicum Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on March 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund "Helping the Johnson's after their loss", to which donations can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of…
We invite you all to share pictures or memories with the family. It was always his wish that we stay positive, laugh, and reminisce together during this time. Any memories, condolences, and contributions are greatly appreciated.
