Michael's obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael James Miranda-Ortiz, who left us on April 21, 2024. Born on December 11, 1989, his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Known as James (Mikey) to those close to him, he was a kind, loving, and somewhat sarcastic soul who lived life to the fullest. Despite his rude humor and sharp wit, he was always tender-hearted with his family, showing an extraordinary level of care and devotion. Determined and resilient, he motivated those around him to never give up and to always push towards their goals. James left behind so much love in all of us, and his absence will be profoundly felt.

James' surviving family include his beloved wife Millie Miranda-Ortiz, whom he married in 2019, and their daughters Ana Garcia, Janelis Garcia, Anayra Miranda, and son Javier Miranda. He also leaves behind his mother Marta Ortiz, and siblings Alexandra Miranda, Jonathan Miranda, Joseph Miranda, Jobana Ortiz, Eduardo Miranda, and Christian Miranda. James was predeceased by his father, Edwardo Miranda.

Also mourning his loss are his father-in-law Ricky Santana, mother-in-law Betsy Santana, brother-in-law Ricardo Santana, and sisters-in-law Yari Santana, Elizabeth Santana, Catherine Arriaga and Lupe Santana. James was a man who truly valued his family and spent every possible moment in their company.

A great lover of food, some of his favorites included Zinger mountain melt, lasagna, and pastelon. He enjoyed Pepsi and was an ardent fan of artists such as Bryant Myers, Eladio Carrión, Almighty, and Yeruza. A dedicated TV enthusiast, he loved watching The Office, The Flash, Arrow, and any superhero TV show he could find. The Fast and Furious series topped his list of favorite movies. His recreational activities included fishing, jetskiing, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and kids. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and undying perseverance.

James was always on the move, residing in multiple cities throughout his life finally settling in Lake Alfred, FL in 2020.

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, cherishing the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. His impact is clearly visible in his major accomplishments, which include being a loving and dedicated father. He is remembered as a man who would do anything to ensure his children had what they wanted. We were all fortunate to have known him, and he will be dearly missed.

May his soul rest in peace.
