Michael's obituary
Michael J. Messick, born in Marksville, Louisiana July 1, 1960, passed away on November 25, 2022 in his home in Panama City Beach, Florida from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Mike was a pioneer in the blood plasma industry with a career that spanned 40+ years, with the true cornerstone of his life’s work focused on the importance of supporting others through the development of knowledge. He was always the guiding light in the darkest times and set the example for patience and kindness no matter the situation. Mike was a great teacher and made a direct impact on the careers of many of those in the plasma industry.
Most recently, Mike served at ImmunoTek/Freedom Plasma as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & FDA Authorized Official….and was still supporting plasma centers only days before his passing. For those who worked with him, the loss is immeasurable, and his expertise and experience will truly never be replaced.
Mike is survived by his mother, two brothers, life partner, three nieces, two nephews, numerous friends, coworkers, and three dachshunds-- all who loved him greatly.
