Michael's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" McDonald, who left us on January 16, 2025. While some affectionately knew him as Michael , he preferred Mike. Born in 1973, Michael was a beloved family man, a devoted enthusiast of his hobbies, and a pillar of strength and support in his family.

Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Deanna Lafrance; their daughters, Aja Lafrance and Jade McDonald; son-in-laws, Ryan Medina and Tyler Riles; sister, Michelle Hutchinsand her spouse Jason; brother, Eric McDonald; grandsons, Carsyn Lafrance and Stryker Madden; granddaughters, Kynzley Brunelli, Payzley Brunelli, and Suttyn Riles and his estranged brother Matt.  He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth McDonald; his father, Wayne McDonald; his grandmother, Cleo Paugh; and his beloved dogs Cheyenne and Shelbee.

As an avid fan of RAIDER NATION, Michael radiated invisible team colors of black and silver. He thrived in setting up speaker systems, playing with his RC cars, and tinkering in the garage with his tools. One could always find car and stereo manuals on his bookshelf. He loved moments at his favorite vacation spot, Trinity Lake.

When it came to his palette, Michael was not a fussy eater, enjoying pretty much anything except spaghetti. His drink of choice was a simple iced tea with splenda. While he didn’t watch much TV, the exceptions were the epic drama series Game of Thrones and a variety of car shows.

Those who knew Michael remember him as being helpful and lovable. He believed in lending a hand even when there was no payment. His greatest accomplishment was raising two wonderful daughters, who along with his grandchildren, are his significant legacy.

Michael will be deeply missed. His departure brings profound sorrow, softened only by the knowledge that he is no longer in pain.

In lieu of flowers, funds are being raised for funeral arrangements, which may be accessed at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Your generous contribution will be greatly appreciated.
