Mike's obituary
Michael Mariano, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on November 28, 2022 at his home in Frisco, Texas with his wife by his side. Born in Queens, NY he came to Texas as soon as he could. He was a man with a quick wit and an even quicker smile. His one goal in life was to make others happy, and he achieved it every day.
Mike was a man of many talents. He could, as his family and friends will tell you, make an entire room of people laugh just by opening his mouth.
Mike had a passion for technology from a young age, even building his own computers. Working in the IT field, he didn’t fit the norm because he never met a stranger. He wanted to get to know the people he was helping, which often meant he was in trouble for talking too much.
He loved his family more than anything else in this world. He would do anything for them and they would do the same for him.
Although he hated being in a hospital bed he loved every minute he got to spend with his loving wife of 21 years. She was the love of his life and he always had a smile on his face when he saw her or heard her voice on the phone.
His family will remember him as someone who always knew how to lighten the mood in any situation—whether it be by telling a joke or sharing the latest meme. He will forever be remembered as someone who loved his family dearly and would do anything for them.
Mike always insisted he would be "the guy who would die young and leave a good-looking corpse." When asked about what he'd like for his obituary, Mike said: "I want people to know that I loved my wife more than anything else in this world—even more than chocolate!"
He is survived by his loving wife, Ramie; two children, Nicolle (Chad) Ketcham and Kyle Plummer; mother, Maryanne Mariano; brother, Quentin Mariano; sister, Linda (Andrew) Shafer; and numerous extended family members and friends he considered family. He’s preceded in death by his father, Michael Alonzo Mariano.
Not one to be center of attention, Mike is forgoing a funeral. He instead requested a Celebration of Life, which will be held on Saturday, December 17th. His expectations for the celebration include friendship, laughter, and baked ziti.
