Michael's obituary
Michael Anthony Madak, 74, passed peacefully on March 3, 2023 in New Port Richey, Florida. Mike was born on May 17, 1948 to Michael and Theresa (Puca) Madak in Trenton, New Jersey. He was raised on the family's farm in Yardley, Pennsylvania as the oldest of three boys. Mike joined the Navy in 1968 and served aboard the USS Midway during the Vietnam War. After his service, he settled in San Diego, California where he married and raised two daughters. Mike built a distinguished 45-year career in the car industry, beginning as a mechanic and ultimately retiring as a Regional Service Operations Manager for one of America’s top 20 Largest Private companies. In 1991, his career moved his family to Clearwater, Florida where he delighted in what was ultimately his favorite role as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren. In 2016, he married Debbie (Rhode) and grew his family to a joyous 13 grandchildren.
Mike never met a hobby he didn't like and lived by the motto "work hard, play hard". He was an avid car enthusiast, a self-proclaimed "desert rat" who loved camping and racing dune buggies in the desert of California, certified SCUBA Divemaster, fisherman and master gardener. To those who knew him, he was a thoughtful and generous man who loved to share his passions and knowledge.
Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters Teresa and Carene; brothers Larry (wife Gloria), Carmine (wife Bridget), grandchildren Leland, Caden, Avery, Jake, Evelyn, Eli, Emerson, Reese, Luke, Ryne, Benjamin, Anneliese, and Evan; nieces Shanan, Michelle, and Lauren; nephew Michael; and many extended family and dear friends.
