Michael's obituary

Michael Paxton Lockett

1968 - 2022

On Sunday, August 28, 2022, Michael Paxton Lockett found peace from this earth while visiting Savannah, GA. He was 54 years old.

Born on August 14, 1968 in Louisville (Jeffersontown), KY, he was the son of Robert Paxton Lockett and Donna Williams Lockett. Michael was also raised by his maternal grandmother Audrey Williams Lehrberger.

Michael was a 1986 graduate of Jeffersontown High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army. His adult life was spent exploring the southern and western United States. He was always open to new adventures and challenges and spent his days working in a wide variety of pursuits ranging from commercial construction to the entertainment industry to owning a self-employed crafting business. While he loved to travel and explore different areas of the country, he always returned to Largo, FL where his younger brother Troy and nephew Travis lived. Michael loved his family very much and made every effort to be there when needed.

Michael was a very interesting man who had a lot to offer the world. Behind his large and imposing exterior lay a kind-hearted, intelligent, and funny guy who could hold a conversation with anyone he met. His range of knowledge about not only the world around him but of world news, current events, pop culture, and even literature took those who met him by pleasant surprise. Many family stories center on the mischief that Michael and his brothers got into and how they interacted with their beloved Granny, a sassy and tough woman indeed to manage the three boys.

Michael is loved and will be missed very much by his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Donna and his grandmother Audrey. He is survived by his father Robert Lockett, his stepmother Leslie Lockett, his brothers Kendrick and Troy Lockett, and his half-brothers Robert and Tim Lockett. He is also survived by his nephew Travis Lockett and family, and his nephew Max Lockett and nieces Kate and Brooke Lockett.
