Mike's obituary
Mike was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Born December 24, 1952, in Clearfield, PA. He now joins those who have preceded him: his eldest son Mike Jr; parents Don Sr., Betty; and sister Debra.
Mike had a passion for working with his hands. Loved anything with an engine; muscle cars, classic trucks and Harley’s. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1972, where he completed vocational auto mechanics. He went on to further his education, becoming a certified diesel engine mechanic, and later a certified first-class welder.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike was a man of many interests and talents. He achieved a black belt in Korean Karate, Tae Kwon Do, competed in numerous tournaments and instructed students from 1976 to 1980. His nurturing nature gave him a green thumb, excelling in gardening. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating and creating beautiful pieces of artwork. A multifarious man, but above all he valued family most.
Always willing to share his knowledge, the legacy he leaves behind, now lives through his: son John and daughter-n-law Courtney; his daughter Ashley; his grandchildren, Alia, Kyla, Parker, & Declan; four great-grandchildren; sister Evie; brothers Don Jr., Jim, Chris; and his beloved dog Wolfgang.
In a final act of generosity, Mike donated his body to science, ensuring his family did not have to bear the cost of his cremation. Internment will not be scheduled for another two years.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Akron, OH. All donations are appreciated and accepted to the church who will helping the family during this time.
