Michael L. Stone

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Stone on June 15, 2023.

Beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away, unexpectedly after a brave battle with lung cancer at the age of 66. 

Born on September 28, 1956, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on a military base where his father served in the Air Force. Michael attended a Catholic school and was raised in the Catholic faith.

In October 1988, Michael married Jamie Ann Stone (Watson), and together they had three children:  Michael James Stone(Mikey)   Samantha Michelle  Stone, and Mitchell Bryan Stone.

Michael also had two daughters, Mandi Oswalt (Stone) and Tabitha Hinkley(Hardy) , from  previous relationships.

Although Michael and Jamie separated in 2002, they remained close friends and co-parents to their 3 children.

Michael was a proud father whom loved and adored his kids,  and his grandkids. He truly loved spending time with his family.

In 2006 Michael met and fell in love with Melody Collier-Hendry, and Michael proudly took on the role of a step- father, to her son

Gabriel Hendry.

Michael was known for his kind heart and love for children. For 23 years, he played the role of Santa Claus for hundreds of kids, bringing joy and happiness to their lives. He had a special way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated. Michael  lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to those who surrounded him. His indomitable spirit and infectious laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His unique ability to form genuine connections with others allowed him to touch the lives of many, leaving a legacy that will persist for generations to come.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Stone and Carolyn Lynn Foster, and his sister, Debbie Darnell. As well as two grandchildren, TJ Michael and Annebelle Tesch.

He is survived by Jamie Stone(Watson), and their three children; son Michael J. Stone and wife; daughter Samantha Stone and wife; and son Mitchell Stone. He also leaves behind two daughters, Mandy Oswalt and Tabitha Hinkley; as well as his partner in life, Melody Collier- Hendry; one step- son Gabriel Hendry; four grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Michael will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

As we mourn the loss of Michael L.  Stone, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the countless ways he has shaped and enriched the lives of those he encountered.

May his memory live on and continue to inspire us all to live our lives with love, compassion, and dedication to both family and community.

His legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Michael will always be remembered for the joy he brought into the world.
