Michael's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Kevin" Hayes, who crossed over on December 23rd, 2024. Born on February 12th, 1965, Kevin lived a vibrant life, creating lasting memories for those around him.
He is survived by his father, Michael Hayes, his son, Chase Hayes, and his brother, Patrick Hayes. His sister, Gina Hayes, predeceased him. He will be remembered by his loved ones for his larger-than-life personality, his laughter, and his wisdom shared in the form of little nuggets that were too many and too precious to mention.
A graduate of Hazelwood East High School, Dunn Road, St. Louis, MO, in 1984, Michael displayed an impressive degree of independence and work ethic even in his youth. His most notable accomplishment was his financial independence at the tender age of 16, a feat which echoes his indomitable spirit and incredible tenacity.
Michael was not just known for his hard work and determination. His hobbies included playing with his drones, watching a game at Gulf Shores , and pumping iron. With a preference for honey whiskey and a strong allegiance to the Cards and Blues, he was a man of simple tastes. His favorite spots included the Lake of the Ozarks and Gulf Shores bar and grill, places that will undoubtedly feel his absence keenly.
Michael’s legacy is in the stories he left behind, stories of adventure and camaraderie that will continue to be told and retold, echoing his vibrant personality long after his departure from this world. His spirit was unique and powerful, filling the room with his presence and turning every moment into a joke. He was the class clown who never outgrew his humor, the handyman whose brain never shut down, and the friend who left an imprint on every heart he encountered.
As we mourn the loss of Kevin, we also celebrate the life he lived and the memories he created. His energy, his laughter, and his passion for life will continue to inspire and uplift us. He will be missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories he left behind and the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
