Michael Joseph Flynn (Mike), 56, of Calimesa, California, passed away on January 22, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Mike was born on May 2, 1969, in Fontana, California, the son of Michael Vincent Flynn and Karen Sue Akers (formerly Flynn).

Mike graduated from Fontana High School in 1987 and was a dedicated student-athlete who played on the varsity basketball team.

On May 18, 1989, Mike married his soulmate, Rebecca Lynn Flynn (Cross) in Hesperia, California. This year would have marked Mike and Becky’s 37th wedding anniversary. In their 37 years, Mike and Becky had three children and 8 grandchildren. A 9th grandchild is expected in April of 2026 and Mike wanted nothing more than to meet baby girl Presley.

Aside from being the best Papa, Mike enjoyed playing and umpiring slow pitch softball. Mike was active in the softball circuit for over 30 years and played in tournaments all over the country.

Remaining to cherish Mike’s memory are his wife, Becky; children, Ashlee (partner Thomas), Brandon (wife Alyssa), and Camryn (partner Nick); grandchildren, Kailaa, Paisley, Brooklyn, Carsyn, Brixton, Miles, Kinslee and John Thomas; expected grandchild, Presley, Father, Michael Vincent Flynn (partner Sue); and siblings, Jennifer (husband Norman) and brother Ryan.

Mike was welcomed into heaven by his mother, Karen Akers (formerly Flynn), his stepmother, Colleen Flynn, his aunt, Donna Gray (Basile), his maternal grandparents Joseph N. and Rose I. Basile, and his paternal grandparents Daniel J. and Virginia C. Flynn.

The Celebration of Life for Mike will be held Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at 11a.m. at Ridgeside City Church in Calimesa, California, with Pastor Zachary Hafner officiating. The family is hosting a reception immediately following at Mill Creek Cattle Company in Mentone, California and would appreciate everyone’s attendance.
