Michael C. Johnson, of Queensbury, NY, passed away on October 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Known for his unforgettable sense of humor, deep love for his children and grandchildren, and passion for history, Mike lived a life filled with laughter, stories, and adventure.
A proud father, “Papa,” brother, son, and friend, Mike found his greatest joy in spending time with his family—especially taking camping trips with his grandchildren, where he created countless memories under the stars. His sharp wit, warm heart, and unwavering strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike is lovingly reunited with his late son Curtis, his beloved wife Edith, his stepson James, his sister Debbie, his mother Charlotte, and his best friend Glenn.
He is survived by his father, David Elder of North Carolina; his children Brittany Hoffer (Jeff) of Queensbury, Amber Husek (Chris) of South Glens Falls, and Michael Matzen; and his cherished grandchildren—Kaden, Lacie, Alexis, Alex, Emma, Bella, and Michael Johnson of Queensbury—as well as his granddaughter Kayla. Mike leaves behind many siblings, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward with love and laughter.
Mike was a true warrior until the very end, facing life’s challenges with courage and grace. His legacy of humor, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
