Mike's obituary
Michael Lee Jewett
June 24, 1958 – May 19, 2025
Michael Lee Jewett, lovingly known as Mike, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2025, in Santa Rosa, California. He was 66 years old. Although his passing was unexpected, his family finds comfort in knowing he was not alone.
Born on June 24, 1958, in Everett, Washington, Mike was a gentle giant with a heart full of laughter and loyalty. He was a proud father to Christine Cuxin and Jason Jewett (Kaitlin), and the fun, devoted grandpa—affectionately called “Pi” by his grandkids—Brayden, Vance, Dominic, Chase, and Antonio. He is also survived by his brothers Jim, Rob, and Larry—and his favorite girl, Madison Anne Lorraine Jewett, his beloved dog.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Frances Jewett, and his cherished wife, Shelly Jewett.
The son of a Navy serviceman, Mike grew up a with an adventurous spirit, a quick wit, and an endless supply of pranks. He was a true practical joker who could always make people laugh. He coached little league, took jiu-jitsu classes with his kids, and made sleepovers unforgettable with Super Soaker wake-up calls. A fiercely loyal and loving grandpa, Pi went above and beyond—showing up and creating lasting memories his grandkids will treasure forever.
While living in the Valle Vista community, Mike proudly served as a board member, continuing a legacy that spanned four generations of family in the neighborhood. His commitment to his people—his family, his friends, his neighbors—was unwavering.
Mike will be remembered for his goofiness, big heart, loyalty, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged, while roasting them endlessly.
