Michael's obituary
Michael J. Grossman, age 70, of McHenry, Illinois, passed away on January 15, 2026.
Michael was born on November 2, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert and Margaret Grossman, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Nancy Grossman.
Michael was a devoted father and grandfather, roles that brought him his greatest pride and joy. He is survived by Joan Krzewina with whom he shared his four daughters: Kara (Trevor) Hasselmann, Katie (Brandon) Rodriguez, Jenni (Brandon) Basselen, and Amy (Justin) Grossman. He was a proud grandfather to Damon, Jamie, Angelina, Ella, Aly, and Stevie, each of whom brought immense happiness to his life.
Professionally, Michael served as President of Mastercoil Spring, where he was respected for his leadership, work ethic, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. True to that spirit, Michael could strike up a conversation with anyone—whether a lifelong friend or a complete stranger.
Michael had a deep love for sports, music—especially the Beatles—reading, and crossword puzzles. Some of his favorite moments were the simplest ones: going out for pizza with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and his unmistakable warmth.
Above all else, Michael will be remembered as a loving father, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man whose kindness and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
