Michael John Hutchison, 68, of Prior Lake passed away on Sept. 19, 2025. He was born August 18, 1957 and grew up in Northeast Minneapolis, but spent most of his life in Prior Lake with his wife and children. Mike was a lover of animals, and delighted in trips to the zoo or pointing out farm animals as he drove by them, and spent as much time spoiling his pets as he could. He enjoyed camping, trips to the beach, gardening, and exploring nature, and was especially fond of visiting Lake Superior’s north shore. He loved Twins baseball and was able to attend two 1987 World Series games, including Game Seven where he was able to participate in the raucous victory celebration afterward. He delighted in the culture of the 50s and 60s with special fondness for the music of Elvis Presley, sci-fi and monster b-movies, and the Oldsmobile Rocket 88 he owned for many years. A quiet and polite man, Mike nonetheless made a lasting impact by sharing his interests with his loved ones.

Mike is survived by his wife Diane Onken-Hutchison, daughter Amy and her husband Carter, daughter Natalie and her partner Liz, granddaughter Autumn, as well as beloved pets Phoebe, Daryl, Freckles, Archie, and Penelope. Celebration of Life service will be held on October 5 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Boudin’s Manor Lake Association (6771 Boudin St NE, Prior Lake.)
