HEALEY, MICHAEL JOHN April 21, 1953 – December 4, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael John Healey after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Mike passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the age of 72 at Sunnybrook Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and two lifelong friends. Mike is survived by his loving wife Nevine, to whom he was married for over 44 years. He will also be deeply missed by his son Owen (Kass), his daughter Yasmine (Mike), his four cherished granddaughters Sophie, Lilly, Holly and Maya, whom he loved dearly, his sister Karen (the late Barry), brother Peter (Laura), mother-in-law Faiza (the late Fred), and sister-in-law Jehane (Lenny). Mike will be fondly remembered by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is remembered as a devoted and loving father and grandfather, dedicated Toronto Hydro employee, travel enthusiast, passionate hockey fan, and crossword puzzle genius. The cottage in Port Loring held a special place in his heart where he enjoyed walks in the woods, boating, fishing, card games and family time. He was renowned for his wisdom and quick wit, curiosity, sharp intellect, love of dogs and thirst for travel to exotic places around the world. Above all, Mike was a devoted family man. His lifelong love for Nevine and his deep love for his children and grandchildren defined his life. His deep connection with his two lifelong friends Jim and Bob brought many laughs and memorable adventures. Mike - we miss you, we love you, we thank you for everything and we hope to see you again! Cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Memorial donations in Mike’s name may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital or the Monastery of Ste Rita of Cascia (Italy).
