A sports enthusiast, Mike spent much of his free time watching any and all sports. He also had a love for nature and the calm. He spent his leisure time golfing, feeding birds, and meditating over puzzles. These hobbies allowed him to appreciate the quiet and the peace that life offers.
Mike taught us that life doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful - that kindness, patience, and a good sense of humor can carry you through even the hardest days. He showed us to slow down and appreciate the small things in life, to care deeply for others, and to meet life with a steady, laid-back spirit. Even in difficult times, he reminded us to stay positive, to find something to smile about, and to never lose our sense of humor.
Mike was a loving husband to his wife, Leanne Wayne. His life is celebrated by a large family, which includes his brothers Terry (Tanya) Hassler, Tim (Deani) Hassler, Larry (Rose) Hassler, Bill Hassler; his sisters Jane (Don) Dwyer, Mary (Don) Kunz, Missy (John) Sandstrom and Becky Doane; his step-children Sean (Kassi) Wayne, Steph Cardenas, and other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
