Johnny and Teri our hearts are broken on hearing of Mike’s passing. Glad we were friends with him on Facebook so we could watch him grow into an amazing man.

Joey felt Mike’s kindness. As a mother of a child with severe autism, Mike’s kindness to Joey will always touch my heart.

Mike and I are both from the Chicagoland area. We always talked about the food when we got together and we were equally excited when they opened up a Rosatis in Wake Forest.  I used to put Freon in his AC every year and would catch up on things while I was there. The last time I charged his AC I brought my dog with me who was just a puppy. Mike loved him right away and said if you ever have to get rid of him I’ll take him. I laughed and said that Diggs ain’t going anywhere. But when I left, I thought damn, what if I did have to get rid of the dog for some reason? And then I thought, who would take care of him better than Mike?  And right there I decided if I had to give him up, Mike would be my very first call. I also remember him for generosity. We were at church one morning and instead of tithing he handed me $100 bill and said, “I want you to have this”. It was because I have a son with autism. Mike always asked how my son was doing with sincerity. He also told me on many occasions that I am welcome to bring Joey swimming at his house whenever I wanted. You will be missed my brother.

Wow 😔 I’m sorry sorry to hear this! Wilk forever be in my prayers ! A cool funny guy I will always remember!

This hits hard.  We started out as co-workers, he became my right hand man, and then a great friend.  He had a way to make me laugh, embarrass me, and even tick me off.  But in the end he did him with no excuses.  All the while he listened and understood to be an amazing reality check when a different perspective was needed.  Behind that giant cackle was someone who took seriously doing the best he could for those near him.

To Mike's family;  I share tears falling onto smiles with the memories of Mike in my heart.  God bless in your loss.

First time I ever met Mike he had a presence about him that was unmatched! He was an amazing man and he leaves behind a legacy for all men to follow on how to treat their wife and kids. I’ll remember him as a man that I want to strive to be as a husband and a father someday! Mike we love you and Rest In Peace ❤️

BONUS Dad - As Mike's infectious laugh was felt by those who knew him; also was his love and admiration for his step daughters; Hailey & Ashlyn Vonkrusze. He came into they're life and immediately took on a father figure roll. Mike's stepdaughters grew up with him as a role model and support system, his goofiness and playful characters made it easy to love him. He taught them countless things; how to ride a bike, how to check your oil, to be aware of your surroundings, lifelong lessons; The impact he had on their life should be recogozined. Mike meant a LOT to them, I wasn’t sure why they were not mentioned in his obituary. You cant think of Mike and not think of the girls he help raise. Its with much regret to hear of his unexpected passing and praying for his family to find peace during this most difficult time.

My condolences to Mike’s family. I met him through his stepdaughters Hailey and Ashlyn and he was always cracking some great jokes and rocking the best lawn-mowing attire… he will be missed!

My condolences to Mike’s family.

Mike you were one of a kind brother. Your helpfulness, sense of humor, your laugh and constant practical jokes made living next door to you a blast. You will be sorely missed my friend. RIP buddy.

You are gonna be missed my friend. You always went above and beyond. You always went the extra mile.
My condolences to Mike's family. I first met Mike when we moved onto Ribcowski court in 2010 and we would often laugh about everything and anything. He was a great person.

You always had a smile on your face and were always joking about things, never overcomplicating. "Funny Mike is working that cellsite..." and we wanted to stop by just to BS for a little bit with you. Funny Mike, rest in peace brother, joke and prank all you want up there, you'll be missed. My condolences to your family.
