Kiera, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad seemed like such an amazing person and clearly had a great sense of humour judging by some of the photos shared. Send you love and strength as you navigate this very difficult time.

I knew Mike back in junior and high school. We crossed paths years later as we came to work together in the same department for the past 20 years. Time really moved fast but that didn’t matter to Mike. He remained true to his character throughout his years by enjoying sports, music and having fun. We constantly reminisced about our younger years, as we had so many common memories. Being fortunate to have Mike as both a friend and coworker meant I realized how little I knew about all sorts of topics – from his recollection of song lyrics or TV shows to selecting a good beer to who to watch in the upcoming hockey draft to his focus for addressing core issues at work. And when it came to consistency, you could count on Mike to bring perogies to a department lunch potluck. Since our office space was only feet apart, a Monty Python or Bill Burr comedy piece would be common for Mike to reference. His outgoing personality was one of his greatest and most appreciated characteristics. Mike’s morning monologue of last night's hockey game, concert or golf trip made you feel like you shared the experience with him. He was both a great person and supportive team member. Mike will be truly missed by everyone that knew him.
