Mike Epps, Owner of A to Zen, passed away on May 21, 2024. Mike had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer in October of 2023 and had complications following surgery. He fought a hard fight but got tired toward the end and God called him home.

Mike was a man who loved his family, music, and his community. Mike was a loving Husband, Father, Papa, son, and brother. Mike was a compassionate supporter of local musicians. Mike was a generous and kind man who loved welcoming new performers as well as performers that were in their professional element to A to Zen. Mike was a friend to most that he crossed paths with. Mike was a large presence in the musical community that soon turned into family through A to Zen. Mike was very excited about what he was planning with A to Zen Productions and enjoyed being so involved with the local musicians and the happenings around the community.

Mike leaves behind his loving wife of 16 years, Meredith Epps, Daughters, April Epps, Emma Epps, Merisa Renteria (Chris), and son Michael Renteria. Mothers-in-law, Judy Smith and Beverly Eichman, Fathers-in-law, Dennis Smith and Gerald Bruce. Brothers Jerry Epps (Rebecca), Jeremy Smith (Eli), and Gary Epps (Diane), and several nieces. Mike had many friends that he called family and was loved by many.

Services for Mike will be held at the outdoor stage at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City, NV on June 21, 2024, at 6:30pm. Several musicians will play, and we will celebrate his life through music and stories.
