Dear Ecks Family:

It was such a joy to meet Mike AFTER Marquette thru the alumni here in San Diego. He always reached out to say Hi and see how everyone was doing and was so much fun on the golf course, particularly with Matt and their constant jokes. He is already missed. Many prayers and blessings to the family. I will join you virtually from Ireland.

Eileen

Dear Susie, Sammy and Summer,

I am so sorry for your loss.  I only met Mike a couple times at local SD Marquette alumni events and want to say how much his warmth stood out to me.  He was so welcoming to me as a Marquette alumni, new to the SD club.  He was an energetic and positive voice for our alma mater.  It was evident to me right away what a caring man of faith he was.  I am so very sorry.

Many thoughts and prayers to the family. Our San Diego Marquette family wishes you all peace and comfort during these trying times.

I am saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I had the distinct pleasure of working with him at the San Diego Union-Tribune and have fond memories of our time together. Mike was a man of integrity and kindness…and I was privileged to call him my friend. Regrettably I am unable to attend the services in his honor. My deepest sympathy to Susie and his daughters.
