MICHAEL's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Flood, a loving husband, devoted father, and proud veteran. Born on September 20, 1969, Michael's life tragically came to an end on August 24, 2023.
Michael is survived by his son, Michael Leman, daughter, Aliese Flood and son Nicolas Flood. And he survived by his loving and devoted wife Denise Flood. Michael's vibrant spirit and memorable charisma will forever live within the hearts and minds of his family and those who had the privilege to know him.
Born on USA on US soil in Sasabo, Japan to Don and Betty Flood. His family relocated to San Diego, CA, when he was 3 years old. Where Michael grew up and graduated from high school before bravely embarking on a career in the military. Serving in the Army straight out of high school, he was an active soldier from 1988 to 1992, serving in Desert Storm and Germany, a testament to his unwavering bravery and dedication. Later, from 2006 to 2010, he served in the Army National Guard in Afghanistan and Kuwait. His service to his country was one of his many notable accomplishments.
Known for his loving, fun, Christian, and funny personality, Michael always brought joy to those around him. His life's best lessons were embodied in his mantra: "To care and cherish everyone." His compassionate and loving nature will continue to inspire his family and friends.
In 2003, Michael and Denise met online and instantly knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Their loving bond, filled with laughter and shared jokes, held strong until his final day. Among their favorite jests was the claim that Michael married Denise for her money, and Denise married him for his son, Nicolas. Whomever she adopted when he was 7. This humor, indicative of their affectionate relationship, will forever be cherished by those who knew them.
As we mourn the loss of Michael, we also celebrate his vibrant life, his loving nature, and his unwavering bravery. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
