Michael's obituary
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Michael Clifford Williams. Michael Is the son of George and Carolyn Williams. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Lawrenceville Catholic High School. He excelled in math and was admitted to the engineering program at the University of Cincinnati. After a short time at UC, Michael chose to enlist in the US Army and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his service. Michael moved to Bradenton, FL in 2006. He completed training and spent many years as an HVAC technician prior to becoming an entrepreneur. Michael established a service which provided transportation to medical and other appointments for the disabled, ill, elderly and those without means of transport. Michael loved helping people and he filled a huge void in the lives of his clients. They appreciated the peace of mind resulting from having reliable transportation and many became personal friends.
Michael was a loving, attentive son and very close to his parents. They left family and lifelong friends in Pittsburgh to move to Florida and live near Michael. He spent every weekend at their home and visited often during the week. He was jokingly labeled as “Momma’s Boy” by his father. Michael would smile and proudly reply, “thank you very much”. The love, laughter and good times that Michael shared with his parents, especially over the past three years, will be cherished forever.
Michael loved challenging his father in basketball. He and his dad enjoyed a spirited basketball rivalry that started during his youth and continued well into adulthood. Deciding who was the most skilled athlete remained a topic of debate long after the games ended. Michael was an avid sports enthusiast and a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a proficient chess player who loved fishing, reading and cooking.
Michael died peacefully after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by: his brother, George Clifford Williams III; maternal grandparents Roosevelt and Ruby McCallum; paternal grandfather George Williams; paternal grandmother Mary Williams; uncle Carl E. Parker; and aunt LaJuan Williams.
