Michael's obituary
Michael William “Mike” Cady Jr., age 69, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Born on June 13, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Mike was the son of Michael Cady Sr. and Carole (Schwach) Suchy.
Mike was a devoted family man who experienced both great joys and profound losses. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Deborah; his daughter Rebecca Jetzke; his father Michael; his stepmother Eleanor; and his stepfather Frank Suchy.
Despite facing numerous health challenges, Mike never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living life fully. His memory lives on through his children Christopher and Jessica Cady; son-in-law Shane Saari; and granddaughters Makenna and Madilyn Saari. He is also remembered with love by his mother Carole Suchy; sisters Denise (Jon) Walkowski and Lynne (the late Robert) Diebel; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. His unwavering positivity and resilience in the face of adversity were an inspiration to everyone he met.
A devoted sports fan, Mike especially loved cheering on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and the Michigan Wolverines (much to the disappointment of his daughter, a proud Spartan!). There's nothing more "Mike" than a driveway bonfire with a Miller High Life in hand while watching the game, or 3. He also cherished time spent with his many friends from the Fraternal Order of Eagles, especially Woody, Keri, Tommie, Chewy, and Ray.
Mike will be remembered for his warm humor, steadfast loyalty, and the comfort his presence brought to family and friends. He never met a stranger, and he will be fondly remembered as a jokester and a source of infectious laughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the American Lung Association or Lary’s Speakeasy.
A memorial service will be held on Friday September 19, 2025 at 11am at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East [38425 Garfield Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038]. The service will be held at the front chapel followed by a graveside interment.
