Michael's obituary
In Loving Memory of Michael Wayne Brewer November 1, 1955 – February 21, 2025
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Michael Wayne Brewer, a beloved father, devoted friend, talented hir dresser, and faithful servant of God, who passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with bone and prostate cancer. He was 69 years old.
Born on November 1, 1955, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Michael was one of four siblings, with one beloved sibling who preceded him in death. He was the cherished son of Sylvia Riggs and Charles Brewer. From the beginning, his life was filled with warmth, music, and the deep values of faith and family.
Michael was a gifted hairdresser whose artistry, skill, and genuine care for people made him more than just a stylist—he was a trusted friend to many who sat in his chair. Known for his hard work, compassion, and unshakable integrity, he brought light and laughter wherever he went.
But Michael’s proudest title was that of “Dad.” He led with love, taught by example, and showed them what it meant to live with courage, faith, and kindness.
Michael had a deep love for music and found great joy and peace in worshiping God through song. Whether humming a tune while working or lifting his voice in church, his spirit was always lifted in praise. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, sustaining him through every trial and triumph.
He also had a deep love for the water. Whether he was cruising on his boat, basking in the sun, or steering through open waves, he found peace and joy on the water. He was never more at home than when he was the captain—both literally and figuratively—guiding his boat and his family with steady hands and a full heart
To know Michael was to love him. He was a man of unwavering strength, boundless generosity, and a heart as big as his smile. His presence was a gift to all who knew him, and though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit, love, and legacy will continue to live on through every life he touched.
Michael is survived by his three daughters, Ashley, Amber and Danielle, his mother Sylvia Riggs and sister, Carolyn Hunter.
He is deeply loved, sorely missed, and forever remembered.
