Michael's obituary

Michael G. Branca passed away on September 18, 2023, at the age of 92 in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He was born on January 1, 1931, in Norristown, PA. Michael was a dedicated husband and father, in addition to being an active member of his community.

Michael married Pauline Thomas on February 8, 1958 at Holy Savior Church in Norristown, PA. Together, they raised three children: Michael, David, and Christine. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline Branca, his children Michael (Jenifer), David, and Christine Pauley (Donald), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Angelica Branca, two brothers Anthony and Domenic, and four sisters Elinor, Valie, Edith, and Elizabeth.

After graduating from Norristown High School in the Class of 1948, Michael proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1949 to 1953. He served on the USS Newport News and at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, Rhode Island. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Second Class Petty Officer. Following his military service, Michael had a successful career as a supervisor at Trane Thermal. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his profession.

Michael was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy Council 4153 in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He enjoyed participating in their activities and contributing to his community.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 6:30-7:30 at Volpe Funeral Home, located at 707 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19403.

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at St. Miriam Friary and Parish, located at 654 Bethlehem Pike. Flourtown, PA 19031. Celebration of life will follow at Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy Council 4153 located at 1019 Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
