It is sad to know that Mike died about a year ago.  I knew Mike in the Air Force when we worked for SAFSP.  Seeing his pictures I remember that infectious smile. What a great man!  mike therrien

Laura and Ken's surprise 30th…
2014, Springfield, MA, USA
Laura and Ken's surprise 30th anniversary party — with Michael and Teea(Kel's friend)
As a child, my male my siblings were active duty and away from the house serving their country. When opportunities presented themselves, each would return home to rest, relax and spend quality time with family. These times are some of the most memorable of my childhood. While each visit was unique, I clearly remember Michael picking me up from school in his sports car one weekend. Later that evening, he prepared a tent on the patio in our backyard. We stayed-up late with him talking about his travels and me speaking about my childhood dreams while gazing at the stars. In the morning, we woke to the sun rising and later consumed hours of cartoons. It was a unique experience, but typical of Mike to let me know that even though we were separated by distance, his youngest brother was never forgotten. All of my siblings are important me. Each is loving and unique. However, this moment was impactful as it reflects the importance of quality time with loved ones, and how memorable these snapshots are in a child's development. Much like a camel conserves water in the the desert, I learned at a young age how to make the most of a few days quality time to sustain me for months, if not years. I have dozens of examples from many, big and small, but this specific one always makes me smile.
