Background
In lieu of flowers, please donate toward a memorial bench on the Oakland City University campus near the site of the former Biology building, Brengle Hall, where Mike poured decades of his life into hundreds of students, cultivating in them a love and wonder of the natural world and its Creator. This marble bench will be engraved with his title, Dr. Michael J. Atkinson, Professor of Biology. Its location is both near to Brengle's site, and adjacent to the memorial of his dear friend, the late Dr. Claudine Cutchin.
