Michael's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael "Papo" Arnett, fondly known as Papo but most preferred to be called Michael. Born on January 25, 1971, Michael's journey of life concluded on May 8, 2023. A man of many roles, he was a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a good friend to many. His departure leaves behind a void that can never be filled.
Michael leaves behind a loving family who he greatly cherished. He is survived by his son, Ryan Arnett, and his daughter, Rachel Arnett, both of whom he was incredibly proud of. He also leaves behind his ex-wife, Ashley Kert/Arnett, with whom he remained amicable. His step-children, Olivia and James Arnett, will remember him as a caring and supportive figure in their lives.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kennedy Shaffer Arnett, who was born on July 20, 2012, and Jude Arnett. His deep love for them was evident in his joyous face every time he was with them. The bond they shared was truly special, one that will be cherished forever.
Michael's love extended beyond people - he also had a soft spot for animals. His days were filled with simple pleasures like BBQ potato, listening to The Beatles and Milky Chance, and watching football. He had a particular fondness for the Colts. His favorite way to stay active was walking his dogs, which he often combined with his love for the outdoors.
Those who knew Michael closely would describe him as a loving, kind, and funny man. He had a light-hearted spirit that could brighten up any room. One of his valuable lessons he imparted on his loved ones was to "Always remember that I'm in your heart". He was a man who prioritized his family, friends, and animals over anything else, which was one of his greatest accomplishments.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his friends, family, and all the animals he cared for. The love he gave, the joy he spread, and the lives he touched will always be remembered. He will be sorely missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.
